Course Descriptions 

1.  Course Title: Broadway Concert Band

Instructor: Terry Dahlgren

Course Description:

The Broadway Concert Band is made up of students with advanced ability on a band instrument. Placement to this band does require an audition. Regular concert appearances by the band include a fall, mid-year, and a spring “Pops” concert as well as participation in one or two music festivals in Oregon. This band performs all styles of music ranging from classical to movie hits.

2.  Course Title: Broadway Sharks Band

Instructor: Terry Dahlgren

Course Description:

The Broadway Sharks Band is made up of students in grades 7 and 8 that wish perform on a band instrument. Placement to this band does not require an audition, but it is strongly recommended that the student has successfully completed a year of beginning band. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the director. Regular concert appearances by the band include a fall, mid-year, and spring “Pops” concert. This band performs all styles of music ranging from classical to movie hits.

3.  Course Title: Broadway Beginning Band

Instructor: Terry Dahlgren

Course Description:

The Beginning Band is made up of students who wish to learn to play a band instrument. Students are tested at the beginning of the year to determine which instrument best suits them. Once everyone has an instrument, students attend one section lesson a week and one period of full band every day. Regular concert appearances by the band include winter, spring, and “Pops” concerts. Students learn to play all styles of music from classical to movie and television hits.
