Course Title: 7th Grade Social Studies

Instructor: Jake Funk 

Course Description:

The class will cover topics ranging from basic geography skills to current events. Students will learn about important figures, events, and movements that have impacted the Eastern Hemisphere and our modern culture today. In addition to Social Studies content, we will also be emphasizing improving our literacy skills through reading and writing.

Major Projects: 

Projects: Fall - Map Making, Winter - Country Project, Spring - National Parks Project.

Scope & Sequence By Term:

T1 - Rome, Feudalism, Medieval Europe, 
T2 - Decline of Feudalism, Crusades, Islam
T3 - Africa, Asia, Europe’s Renaissance and Reformation, The Enlightenment

 

Course Title: Tech & History

Instructor: Jake Funk

Course Description:

Students will be learning about technology and history during this term.  Students will learn keyboarding and how to use google apps properly.  Students will learn how to use google docs, classroom, and slideshow.  Students will be learning about particular regions and topics around the world. Students will be watching films about important events and topics that are happening around the world. Students will learn background knowledge on the topic or issue, watch a film, and analyze the significance of the topic. In addition to Social Studies content, we will also be emphasizing improving our literacy skills through reading and writing.
