Course Title: 8th Grade Science and Health

Course Description:

This class explores topics in Science including: Physical Science, Earth Science, Biology and Health.  

Major Projects:

Fall: Science Inquiry Performance Task; Winter: Natural Selection Research Project Spring: Personal Ecological Impact Analysis

Course Title: Comparative Literature

Instructor: Annie Forman

 

Course Description:

This class is designed to provide an opportunity to engage in narrative, through speaking, watching, reading, writing and listening.  Students will read novels, watch film, listen to podcasts, and read articles that are centered around ten relevant class themes including: race, class, nature, corruption, regret and more.  We will also be visiting assisted living groups, and kindergarten groups in order to engage in some cross-generational literary analysis.

Major Projects:

Literacy Study with assisted living groups and Kindergarten, visits to Seaside Public Library, Production of bi-weekly pre-recorded broadcast for KMUN Astoria.

This is a single-term class. Students will be enrolled for one term only.
