Bio

This school year marks my 13th year teaching! I spent the first 4 years teaching 6th grade math at BMS and 6 years at Gearhart Elementary School teaching 4th grade. I am super excited to be back at BMS teaching 6th grade math again!

I grew up in this area and absolutely love having the opportunity to teach in the same district I attended. After graduating from Seaside High School in 1997, I attended Western Oregon University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I also have a Masters Degree in Middle School Mathematics from Walden University. I consider myself to be a life long learner and love taking classes and going to workshops.

My family is also very important to me and I spend quite a bit of time with them. My husband and I have been married since 2005, have a beautiful daughter named Phoebe, are "parents" to 2 fat and lazy cats, and aunt and uncle to 11 nieces and nephews!

Okay, now the fun stuff:

Favorite colors:  BLUE
Favorite animal:  monkeys and apes
Favorite book: The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
Favorite foods:  lasagna, BBQ steak, potatoes (cooked anyway)
Hobbies: watching football (Go Seahawks!) and basketball (Go Blazers!), spending time with my family, fishing, camping
Favorite season:  summer (but not because there is no school - it's the best weather for camping
