Bio

I grew up in Arcata, California and moved the the San Francisco Bay Area when I was in my teens. I joined the Army and served for nine years before getting out and persuing my teaching degree. During my course work I discovered my passion for science, in particular biogeochemistry, and my love of teaching which led me to obtain my credentials. I have taught at both the high school and middle school level and enjoy them both but for very different reasons. My daughter, Taylor, is currently finishing up her last year at Portland State University and I am nervous, and excited, about what her future holds. My favorite activity is spending time with Scully, my golden retriever, who is the BEST boy ever . . . well except for when he eats my shoes and gets into the garbage.
